The People's United Democratic Moement (PUDM or Pudemo) was founded c. 1989. Since 1973 all political parties, except for the Imbokodvo National Movement (INM), have been prohibited. In the 1990s PUDEMO was the main opposition party.

Swaziland Progressive Party has a flag of black-green-yellow horizontal stripes according to Smith's_, Flags Through The Ages and Across The World_ (1975), pp. 340-341 ("Symbols in politics") [smi75b]. The SPP is an outgrowth of the former SwaziProgressive Association, founded in 1929.
